Power of Attorney & Debt Agreements
Overview

A power of attorney lets someone act for you — sign, file, collect, sell, bank — while you are elsewhere. A debt acknowledgment records what is owed in a form that stands up when memory and goodwill run out. Both only work if the wording matches the powers actually needed and the document is notarised correctly.

We draft, translate and notarise both, scoped to the specific transaction rather than copied from a template that grants too much or too little.

What's included

  • Power of Attorney drafting, general or special, scoped to the transaction
  • Bilingual Arabic and English drafting and certified translation
  • Ministry of Justice notarisation and stamping
  • Debt acknowledgment preparation and notarisation
  • Agreement preparation — settlement, undertaking and authorisation letters
  • Revocation and amendment of an existing POA
Options

What this covers

The routes and categories we handle under power of attorney & debt agreements.

Special power of attorney

Authority limited to a named transaction — a share transfer, a property deal, a single government filing.

General power of attorney

Broader authority to manage affairs, used where a representative must act across multiple matters.

Company POA

Authority granted by a company to a manager or representative for government, banking and licensing matters.

Debt acknowledgment

A notarised record of an amount owed, the repayment terms and the consequences of default.

Process

How it works

A fixed sequence, with a named contact accountable for each stage.

  1. 01

    Scope the authority

We establish exactly what the representative must be able to do, and deliberately exclude what they should not.

  2. 02

    Drafting

The document is drafted in Arabic and English, with the powers and parties stated precisely.

  3. 03

    Review and signature

You review the draft and the parties attend for signature, or sign through an attested overseas POA.

  4. 04

    Notarisation

The document is notarised and stamped at the Ministry of Justice.

  5. 05

    Handover and registration

Copies are delivered and lodged with the bank, ministry or counterparty that needs them.

Checklist

Documents you'll need

Send what you have and we will tell you what is missing. Nothing is submitted until the file is complete, because an incomplete submission is what causes delays.

  • Passport and Qatar ID copies of all parties
  • Commercial Registration and articles, where a company grants the authority
  • Details of the representative and the powers to be granted
  • Supporting documents for the underlying transaction — contract, invoice or loan record
  • Any existing power of attorney being amended or revoked
